Art has been known to be a form of life, a way through which people express their thoughts and ideas in pictorial representation. My work is an experiment in movement. My paintings are observations into the nature of paint, particularly the mediums violent interactions as it wills its own life - the life of the pigments as they interact without the will of a brush. It is in this interconnection that the subject matter becomes less of a priority. instead, the focus is on the medium and the fusion of paint in its varying viscosities. Color theory and its complexities become a dominant force in my work. The primary aspects of each piece are the chemical reactions that occur between the paint.

I use various tools and the canvas in a stasis of water to establish specific environments for the pigments to interact. In each of the embryonic spheres that I create, are the basic ideas of fractal and sacred geometry, the big bang theory, string theory, quantum and gravitational physics. The moment of inception in all of its violent and peaceful development is explored. I attempt to capture a moment in time before dinosaurs and humans lived. I push the boundaries of the medium to demonstrate an intangible energy that is ever flowing, until confronted with another force and its susequent outcome. There was alchemy before science and in fact, there are energies that we cannot describe nor capture with our current technology. I consider myself the catalyst for reactions between paint and the laws of the universe. My works - the capturing of these chemical interactions - are attempts to inspire viewers to take a moment to pause, breathe, and absorb the organic interactions on the canvas. In this manner, my paintings become bridges between the urban landscape i am a part of and the nature we all derive from .  ORLANDO REYES
